A Yorkshire new-perennial garden

This garden was completely refurbished for clients who have a deep interest in growing plants and a life-long love of gardens. This was a collaborative project with Inspired Garden Design Ltd who provided the basic layout and construction concept. Nick designed and organised the planting. The planting concept was to create a character gradient from larger scale, naturalistic, woodland edge at the furthest reach of the garden, to intensely detailed, sun loving, courtyard landscape near the terrace and house and to provide for easy and intensive food growing. Colour and texture are strongly developed and the form and height of planting is modulated to create rhythm and poise in the mostly perennial planting. Species and varieties are used in combinations which are often unusual and striking.
