Hillside gardens
Despite the superb potential of its hillside location, this garden had been developed to its potential and work was needed to restore the surrounding bush, retaining walls and access and to enhance the site with both replanting of the native forest edges and ornamental planting to the pool courtyard. The house and decks have magnificent distant views over Auckland and a sunny aspect. Planting design used the striking contrasts between the diverse local native bush flora and exotic succulents, shrubs and perennials in the sunny poolside gardens and established many more unusual native bush and bush edge species around the house.
