Rainforest garden, Auckland

This garden was created in the established natural rainforest of the Waitākere Ranges, west of Auckland. It makes maximum use of limited space and sunlight to create intensive food gardens and a delightful courtyard for relaxation. The house and garden are situated in a bush clearing and feature a happy combination of native bush plants such as ferns, astelias and orchids with subtropical flowers and foliage such as heliconias and bromeliads.
